I’ve been gone for a bit. Not in a dramatic way.

Okay… maybe a little dramatic, but no manifesto. No “I’m logging off forever” post.

This spotlight has been sitting in my drafts for so long that I’m fairly sure assumed I died quietly in a ditch somewhere off the I-95.

Fair assumption, but not reality.

Here I am, writing beyond the grave. Taking things to the next level as I drift around in my ghostly state. Apparently, I’m harder to kill than I thought.

The truth is simpler. I disappeared into building RingHouse, an agency focused on doing one unglamorous thing very well: making sure businesses never miss calls.

I didn’t forget this piece. I didn’t become Casper. I’ve just been heads-down, doing the kind of work that doesn’t leave much time for posting. And I didn’t want to publish this half-present. Finn’s work deserved more than a rushed intro written between calls. So I waited. I waited, and I waited, and I waited some more…

And what follows is worth the wait.

It’s the story of a builder who didn’t stop building when the “career” part ended, and who approached online writing the same way he approached engineering: with curiosity, rigor, and a low tolerance for nonsense.

The Origin

Before we get into the weeds, I asked Finn to explain who he is, what he’s building, and why Substack Pro Studio exists.

Q: Who are you, and what are you building?

A: I’m a recently retired engineer who swapped spreadsheets and IT production systems for sentences and paragraphs. After building high-tech products and IT systems for over 40 years and managing global teams across 24 countries, I thought I was done.

It turns out that I just wasn’t done building. Two years ago, I fell in love with online writing. Pretty quickly, I realized writers face the same challenges I used to solve in tech: limited time, messy feedback, and too many unknowns.

So, I created Substack Pro Studio - a kind of “Swiss Army knife” for Notes. It helps writers schedule smarter, see real-time results, and even receive an AI nudge when needed. It’s part tool, part growth coach, part cheerleader - designed to make the creative grind feel a little lighter.

Q: What sparked the idea?

A: After writing on Medium for 18 months, I did a retrospective to figure out what was working and what didn’t resonate with my readers. You can read it from here.

I decided to focus on a few things:

Listen for reader feedback and build a better understanding of my audience.

Provide readers with practical tools and guides.

Help to solve problems and document the steps taken

Work on my Finn’sights Newsletter for another channel to distribute my stories on Substack.

Add more products like The Top Authors Dashboard on Gumroad

This was a truly pivotal moment for me, and it changed the trajectory of my newsletter. I started with 24 subscribers, and a year later, I now have over 1,150. I wrote this article about my transformation over the last 12 months.

Q: How do you explain this to different people?

A: To a writer friend, I’d say: “Imagine having a growth coach who doesn’t sleep, doesn’t nag, and never loses your notes. That’s Substack Pro Studio. It helps you plan your posts, track what’s working, and grow your audience without burning yourself out.”

To a fellow builder or engineer, I’d say: “It’s a connected system that layers scheduling, analytics, and lightweight AI on top of Substack APIs. Essentially, it converts messy Notes activity into structured data, performs engagement analysis, and automates the feedback loop. Think lean startup but applied to online writing: build, measure, learn, repeat.”

The Struggle

Q: What’s been your toughest moment so far?

A: In February 2025, I ran a Substack Growth & Analytics Survey to get a clearer sense of what writers actually wanted. The results pushed me to build the Substack Dashboard - a big project that ultimately tracked 105,074 newsletters, 2.868 million posts, and 1.792 million Notes.

The problem? I still had a demanding 9–5 job, so my “nights and weekends” turned into “late nights and very early mornings.” Docker containers, Grafana dashboards, PostgreSQL pipelines - it all came together, but so did the stress. By the end of February, I was pretty fried. However, quitting wasn’t an option, as I wanted to finish what I had started.

Q: What did you underestimate going in?

A: I seriously underestimated how complicated (and humbling) the Substack Dashboard would be. By April 5th, I launched it with high hopes. Twenty people signed up. Nineteen cancelled. One stayed out of either loyalty or pity. That stung, but it also taught me lessons I carry into every project now:

• Don’t trust survey data alone - talk to real humans.

• Build small, test often, validate everything.

• Never launch something complicated without proper beta testing.

Hard truths, but better than repeating the same mistake at scale.

The Wins

Q: What’s the proudest milestone so far?

A: The proudest moment was the Substack Pro Studio launch on August 29th. I’d been building in small increments since June, layering in every hard lesson from the past year. This time, I had 23 beta testers putting it through its paces, and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

For the first time, I wasn’t just tinkering - I was shipping something people genuinely loved. Seeing writers replicate my own growth results with the tool felt like magic. That was the “this is working” moment.

Over 341 customers are using Substack Pro Studio (including my collaborative product with Yana) within one month after its launch.

Q: Any surprising use cases?

A: One of the most fun surprises came from collaborating with Yana G.Y. She initially asked me for datasets to help her train a custom GPT for Notes. She then designed a clever way to surface Notes with high engagement, sorted by fields so she could filter thousands at a glance.

Before long, she had a “Notes Writer” GPT trained on the data - and we ended up integrating it with Substack Pro Studio. Watching someone take my work and remix it into something entirely new was a proud, unexpected twist.

Q: What sets you apart in such a crowded space?

A: I stand out by building only for Substack writers. Everything comes from my own experience publishing (and often fumbling) on the platform, and it gets refined through constant feedback from fellow creators.

My mission is to help writers grow without burning out - turning messy, time-consuming tasks into simple, almost invisible workflows.

This isn’t some generic software - it’s writer-first craft, co-created with the community. If it feels personal and practical rather than overwhelming, then I know I’m on the right track.

The Vision

Q: Where do you see this in 3–5 years?

A: In 3–5 years, I see my products becoming the go-to growth platform for independent writers.

The current building blocks—scheduling, analytics, and engagement reports—will evolve into a connected system, a lean AI-first CRM explicitly designed for creators. I’m taking the first steps, as explained in this article, by pulling Substack and Gumroad data in the background and connecting it to the Claude AI desktop app so that you can receive personalized insights tied to your actual audience, their behaviors, and your revenue.

I started beta testing StackContacts in early December 2025, and within the first week, 8 of 12 beta testers had their AI-powered CRM system up and running.

The bigger picture isn’t just software, though. It’s a thriving community of writers helping each other grow smarter, share insights, and stay sustainable. If I can give writers more time for creativity and less stress about growth, that’s the future I want to build.

Q: What’s the bigger mission here?

A: The bigger mission is to make independent writing sustainable. Too many talented writers burn out: not from lack of ideas, but from the grind of growth. My goal is to give them leverage - simple, data-driven tools that amplify their reach and protect their creative energy.

Ultimately, it’s about helping writers build lasting, independent businesses without losing the joy of writing or their sanity.

Q: What does success mean to you personally?

A: For me, success isn’t signups or revenue graphs - it’s seeing writers use what I’ve built to stay independent and energized. If my tools help someone publish with less stress, reach more readers, or simply feel a bit lighter in their creative journey, that’s worth everything.

On a personal level, success means knowing I’ve made the writing path a little less lonely and far more enjoyable.

Behind the Builder

Q: What tools or resources have been indispensable?

A: I live inside a handful of tools: VS Code and Cursor for building, Posthog for seeing metrics and what’s really happening, and Obsidian for organizing my chaos.

But the real lifesaver? Long walks iwith my dog - because sometimes the best debugging happens away from a keyboard. That, and coffee. Lots of coffee.

Q: Who inspires you?

A: I draw inspiration from many indie hackers and creators who build in public - people who share the messy middle, not just the highlight reel. Writers like those on Substack who continue to show up, even when growth feels slow, remind me why I do this. Yana G.Y. is one of those inspiring people whom I met initially on Medium, and we started collaborating over a year ago

Q: What advice would you give someone starting out?

A: Start small and show up often. Don’t wait for perfect - it never comes.

Publish, learn, adjust, repeat. Listen closely to your readers; they’ll tell you what matters more than any metric.

Protect your creative energy like it’s gold, and remember: growth isn’t about one big leap - it’s about a hundred small, consistent steps. And yes, coffee helps here too.

Coming back to Substack feels a bit like that scene in The Lost World where they walk back into the abandoned control room. Cobwebs in the corners. Dust on the consoles. Monitors dark. Everything looks abandoned, but nothing is actually broken.

You flip the switchboard back on and, one by one, the systems wake up. Screens glow. Fans spin. The muscle memory kicks in faster than expected.

Reading Finn’s story again after months of building RingHouse was grounding in the best way. Same game. Different terrain. Real users. Real fatigue. Real systems that either reduce friction or quietly grind people down. That part never changes.

Finn didn’t build for attention. He built for endurance. For writers who want to keep showing up without lighting themselves on fire in the process. That’s rare. And it’s why this piece stuck with me long after I finished the interview.

More spotlights are coming. More writing too. I’m easing back into the chair. Slowly. Deliberately. And hopefully with fewer multi-month gaps that make people wonder if I’m still alive.

The inbox isn’t a library. It’s a landfill.

A few subscriptions are fine. A hundred and you’ve accidentally signed yourself up for a full-time job. That’s where found herself, buried under newsletters she actually wanted to read but had no shot at keeping up with.

Most people just unsubscribe or let the backlog rot. Karen built a machine instead. StackDigest. A tool that chews through the chaos, spits out a clean digest, and makes discovery feel less like dumpster diving and more like actual reading.

She spent months on an AI writing studio only to discover her “ideal customers” were college kids trying to cheat on essays. Then came prototypes that barely worked, RSS formats that claimed to be “standards” but weren’t, and enough face-palms to make most people quit.

Karen didn’t quit. Frustration turned into fuel. Out of the mess came something that works. A personal life raft that became a product other people now rely on. StackDigest isn’t promising to save the world. It’s just here to save your inbox. Which might be the same thing.

The Origin

Before we get into the weeds, I asked Karen to explain who she is, what she’s building, and why StackDigest exists.

Q: Who are you, and what are you building?

A: I’m Karen Spinner, and I write about my experiences building with AI, including the messy failures, at Wondering About AI. Over the past year and a half, I’ve built various AI tools, mostly to support my own writing process. My attempts to productize them have been educational disasters. For example, I spent months on an AI writing studio only to discover via Google ads that my “ideal customer” was college students trying to cheat on essays. But, honestly, that’s what happens when you just build for yourself and don’t run your ideas by the people who might actually use them.

My current project, built with feedback from 10-15 amazing beta testers, is StackDigest, a newsletter digest generation tool. It works two ways. First, you can import your own newsletter subscriptions and create real-time digests from the freshest content. Second, there’s a searchable vector database of 2,000 Substack newsletters and 30,000 articles that gets updated weekly. The database goes back three months and supports semantic search, so you can find content by meaning, not just keywords. You can discover new newsletters, add them to collections, or create topical digests instantly from what’s already indexed.

Q: What sparked the idea?

A: After joining Substack two months ago, I got excited and subscribed to basically every interesting newsletter I found. Pretty soon, I had over 200 subscriptions, and they took over my inbox. I wrote a Substack Note about possibly building a newsletter digest tool I could use to keep up with my subscriptions outside of my inbox, and everyone who commented said “build it!” so I did.

I wrote a lengthy article about building a really basic digest tool using Python and mocked up what a product might look like. After receiving positive feedback, I built an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and shared it with several people who had commented on the previous article. Since then, I’ve been evolving the tool and writing extensively about the ups and downs of the development process, and how AI coding tools do (and don’t) work for me.

Q: How do you explain this to different people?

A: For non-technical folks: “You know how you subscribe to newsletters and then your email inbox blows up? StackDigest can read all your newsletters and generate summaries of the best content published over the past week or two, so you won’t miss anything even if you turn off email notifications. It can also search through thousands of Substack newsletters and articles to help you discover new content.”

For techies: “It’s a Django app with PostgreSQL and pgvector for semantic search. I’m using OpenAI’s embeddings to vectorize content from RSS feeds and Substack’s API, then Claude for summarization. The system scores articles based on engagement and relevance, runs on Heroku with Celery for background jobs. Publishers can white-label it to offer digests to their communities.”

The Struggle

Q: What’s been your toughest moment so far?

A: I’ve complained about this extensively via Notes. I built this beautiful vector database locally using Hugging Face sentence transformers. I collected 2,000 newsletters and 30,000 articles and ran successful searches and digests on my laptop. It was fast, accurate, and all-around great. Then I tried to push it to Heroku, and realized I didn’t have enough allocated disk space on the server to support all the dependencies that sentence transformers need to operate. For example, it needed PyTorch, which, all by itself, would have used up all of my storage.

After two days of trying workarounds, I switched to OpenAI’s API for embeddings and semantic search. It cost 36 cents to process all 30,000 articles when I recreated them in production, and it actually worked better. Sometimes the hardest part is admitting your first approach is not going to work.

Q: What did you underestimate going in?

A: The absolute chaos of newsletter data formats. I thought RSS made everything clean and standardized. Wrong. RSS feeds are not always reliable, and every platform does them a little differently. Ghost formats differently than Substack, which formats differently than ConvertKit. While I originally wanted to support multiple platforms alongside Substack from Day One, I’ve decided to get the most important features working on Substack first before adding new platforms. And, because of the reliability issues, I’ve supplemented RSS feeds with Substack’s undocumented API endpoints for better newsletter coverage and fewer failures during digest generation.

The Wins

Q: What’s the proudest milestone so far?

A: Getting a working MVP deployed in five days. After writing about my prototype, I gave myself a week to ship something real. I encountered (produced?) some ridiculous bugs, including an extra space in my API key that broke everything and took a couple of hours to track down. But I got it working, and I’ve stayed with it for the past month and a half. Now I have 34 users and about 10 or so folks who use it frequently. This is really exciting!

Q: Any surprising use cases?

A: couple of folks are using the digests to keep track of industry competitors. To do this, you just find your competitors’ Substacks, enter them into StackDigest, group them into a collection, and periodically run newsletter digests. The digests will capture their latest posts. I’m also looking at adding features that would make it easier to look for themes in competitor content over time.

Q: What sets you apart in such a crowded space?

A: Most tools focus on managing your inbox or saving articles for later. StackDigest lets you actually turn off email notifications, but still keep track of your subscriptions. It saves you from having to unsubscribe just to keep your inbox clean.

Plus, the vector database of more than 30,000 is a great way to discover new newsletters and research niche topics. Unlike Google Search, which prioritizes many different signals, such as backlinks, domain age, etc. that can contribute to older and even somewhat stale content ranking highly, the StackDigest discovery and search feature only looks at topical relevance and recency, so it gives you more timely results. It’s also set up to screen out dormant newsletters that haven’t published for months.

The Vision

Q: Where do you see this in 3–5 years?

A: I’d like StackDigest to become both a curation layer and a collaboration layer. It would help readers find meaningful content in a sea of slop while making it easier for publishers and communities to work together. I envision publishers collaborating on definitive topic digests, communities building shared knowledge bases, and experts curating reading paths through complex subjects. Imagine five climate organizations creating the authoritative weekly climate digest together. Or a technical community maintaining a living guide to the best open source AI models, updated by collective intelligence.

Q: What’s the bigger mission here?

A: Traditional discovery is broken. Google now keeps users on-platform with AI overviews instead of sending traffic to creators. Newsletter platforms optimize for individual subscription revenue, not cross-discovery. Meanwhile, brilliant human insights get buried under content farms churning out hundreds of AI-generated posts daily. StackDigest could become an alternative reading and discovery platform where people can more easily find original human thinking, and creators get found based on content quality and topical relevance.

Q: What does success mean to you personally?

A: In the short term, I’ll be excited if people keep using the tool. Over the longer term, I’d like to see creators and publishers using it to reach new readers, and readers using it for discovery and learning. I’ll also need some way to pay for the hosting and other resources I’ll need to scale the tool and keep it alive. Ideally, it would be great to add a monetization component, but I have no idea what that would look like.

Behind the Builder

Q: What tools or resources have been indispensable?

A: I recently switched to Claude Code after a year of cut-and-paste vibe coding in Anthropic’s Console. Because it can see your whole code base, it makes it a lot easier to make sweeping changes without breaking anything, although you have to watch for context rot. Django and PostgreSQL are proven technologies that can scale up if and when you need them to. The Substack community has been incredibly generous, both in terms of giving this project some initial visibility and providing invaluable feedback.

Q: Who inspires you?

A: People who can build communities at the same time they’re building AI tools, writing books, and more. I have no idea how they do it. Here are just a few of these amazing folks:

Q: What advice would you give someone starting out?

A: Talk to users before building anything. Then keep talking with them over and over again. And make sure you have enough people testing your tool so you don’t lean too hard on any one person for feedback.

The Origin

Q: Who are you, and what are you building?

A: My name is Orel, and I’m a full-time solopreneur with a background in software development. In August ‘23 I walked away from the comfort of a steady paycheck to be my own boss and gain the freedom of choice. No team, no investors. Just me handling everything. After more than 600 days of dozens of failures, burnouts and thoughts of quitting, I finally realized what I was doing wrong. And so I built WriteStack, made it profitable and now it’s running on 1.6k MRR, and growing.

Q: What sparked the idea?

A: It was after I had a chance to collaborate with a big creator, called Tibo. Tibo Lucas is the founder of TweetHunter and Taplio, and he was looking for a co-founder to collaborate on a new version of TweetHunter. I sent him a message as soon as I saw the message and long story short, he gave me a week's trial to see how we work together and what I manage to do. During this week, I learned a lot of new technologies that will be used in WriteStack.

After the week was over, Tibo had told me that he had decided to proceed with somebody else, and that we’ll stay in touch for future collabs. This was a blow to my self-confidence. But it sparked an idea. Why can’t I do this alone, but for Substack? There isn’t anything like that and it’s a much-needed product. That’s how WriteStack started.

Q: How do you explain this to different people?

A: For non-technical folks: WriteStack is your personal sidekick for Substack Notes. No more stressing about ideas or logging in every time you want to post. It helps you create great, personalized Notes in seconds and schedule them for the perfect time, based on your personalized engagement data, so you stay consistent, grow faster, and save hours. It also helps you analyze your Notes with an analytics dashboard. You don’t need to click each note separately and create a Google Sheet to follow the stats. It’s already available for you, in an easy view, on WriteStack.

For builders/engineers: WriteStack ingests your Notes and Posts to model your tone and topics, then uses AI prompts to generate personalized Notes that match your style. Through the Chrome extension, you can queue posts or set exact publish times, giving full control over scheduling. The same extension also fetches engagement data directly from Substack for a built-in analytics dashboard. Instead of clicking multiple times each Note to find its statistics, you get real-time insights in one clean view.

The Struggle

Q: What’s been your toughest moment so far?

A: I have hit so many walls in my journey. Basically, after every failed launch, I was questioning myself and what I am doing as a solopreneur. There wasn’t any one point at which I was having it really bad during my journey.

Some days, I couldn’t even look at my laptop. Others, I’d wonder if my decision to quit my 6-figure job was the right one. Most are burnouts, and the way I deal with those is by accepting the fact that I am not at the peak of my abilities and that I cannot do as much work as I usually do.

Then, usually, I cut myself some slack, work less and do other things. When that doesn’t work, I take morning walks to calm my mind and arrange my thoughts, which helps a lot. For the not-knowing-what-to-do walls, I educate myself. I read books, watch YouTube videos or just talk to a friend.

Q: What did you underestimate going in?

A: I discovered that the set of skills that I have is not nearly enough. I always thought that if I built something that’s worthwhile, people would come in droves and it would go viral. Just finding the right idea will fix everything and be profitable. And I tried it for over 600 days. Built dozens of products, published most of them and didn’t make a single dollar.

Now I realize that I made a big mistake that made me waste almost 2 years.
I didn’t spend more than 3 hours trying to market and show other people whatever I built. I just coded it, posted about it on

LinkedIn/X/Substack/PH(sometimes) and hoped for the best. The thing is that nothing works in the beginning. You have to get feedback, iterate and pivot many times before you hit something that people are willing to pay for. And on the way, you also build a community and trust.

The Wins

Q: What’s the proudest milestone so far?

A: The first payment I received. For 600 days, I struggled. Struggled to get anybody who finds enough value in my products to pay for them. Most of the people who tried to use my products left after the first try. I didn’t manage to move beyond the first stage of validating the idea and confirming that it’s useful.

And when Kacper Wojaczek became my first ever paying subscriber, I knew that I did something correctly. I finally built something useful enough to get paid for it.

Q: Any surprising use cases?

A: Honestly, the surprise is that people use it exactly how I designed it. No hacks or confusions, which to me means the product is simple and clear.

Q: What sets you apart in such a crowded space?

A: What sets me apart is building WriteStack from the ground up as a solopreneur and turning it into a profitable product in a space where most projects die before traction. My edge is lived experience: building, scaling, and growing a community around something that actually solves a problem for writers.

And the fact that I stick to it for a very long time is a huge trust boost. I saw and see many products for Substack, mainly schedulers, that pop out like mushrooms after the rain. Most creators just publish those and hope people will come. Then, a few days or weeks later, they drop it, give themselves a few excuses, and move on to their next idea. I don’t. I go all in on WriteStack.

The Vision

Q: Where do you see this in 3–5 years?

A: In the future, I see WriteStack as the go-to growth engine for Substack writers. Thousands of creators will rely on it to create, schedule, and track their Notes. It’ll be so embedded into the Substack ecosystem that a Substack buyout won’t surprise me. 🙂

Q: What’s the bigger mission here?

A: Level the playing field for writers. Most creators burn out because they’re forced to juggle writing with growth, analytics, and consistency.

WriteStack does the heavy lifting for them so they can focus on what’s important to them. If I can give a solo creator the same growth edge as a big creator with a team, then I’ve done my job.

Q: What does success mean to you personally?

A: Waking up knowing I’ve built something that genuinely changes the trajectory of a writer’s career. If thousands of creators can say “WriteStack is the reason I make a living writing,” that’s real success. Personally, it also means I proved you don’t need a big team or VC money. You can win as a solopreneur, on your own terms.

Behind the Builder

Q: What tools or resources have been indispensable?

A: Reading books is the #1 thing that I do. It has changed my life (literally). From a computer games addict to a solopreneur who built a $1.6K MRR (and growing) SaaS. There are periods in my life when I don’t read as much, and I feel it. Reading books keeps me motivated and helps me regain the power I need to push on.

Q: Who inspires you?

A: . The man has worked his way from the gym floor up to where he is now. And the way he shares his journey is so raw and authentic that it drives me into doing more and pushing myself further. And even now, he still shares almost every bit of his life. That’s admirable.

Q: What advice would you give someone starting out?

A: Marketing is not a nice-to-have. No matter what you do, if you want to grow, you’ll need to market your product or yourself. Nobody else will do it for you, and just showing up is not enough. I wasted 600 days coding in silence. Don’t do that. Talk to people from day one, or you’ll be building for no one.

For decades, software carried an unspoken caste system. “Real” developers wrote code in the dark. Everyone else was just playing with toys.

Then AI arrived and nuked the hierarchy. Suddenly, garbage men were shipping apps, lawn care professionals were automating workflows, and my cousin could build a product faster than PMs could schedule a sprint.

That is exactly why I’m starting this Spotlight Series. This is where I sit down with the people who are bending the rules of creation and ask them how they’re actually doing it. Less TED Talk, more barstool conversation.

The goal is simple: document how new products are born in the AI era.

Which brings me to the first feature: . She’s building Vibe Coding Builders, a community for people who use AI as part of their process but don’t quite fit into the “proper developer” box. While traditional dev spaces clutch pearls over the phrase “vibe coding,” Jenny is already giving those builders a home.

The Origin

Before we get into the weeds, I asked Jenny to give me the big picture. Who she is, what she’s building, and the problem she is trying to solve.

Q: Who are you, and what are you building?

A: I'm Jenny Ouyang, and I'm building the Vibe Coding Builders community at vibecoding.builders. It's a platform where builders who build with the assistance of AI can list themselves, showcase their projects, access learning resources, and learn from each other. Think of it as the missing home for people who are building real applications with AI assistance but don't fit into traditional developer spaces.

I'm also the author behind Build to Launch, where I write about turning AI-powered prototypes into production-ready applications. My background combines technical product building with a deep curiosity about how AI is changing what's possible for non-traditional developers and domain experts who want to build their own solutions.

Q: What sparked the idea?

A: The idea sparked from my own journey building production apps with AI. I'd built projects like Image Finder, Quick Viral Notes, and Substack Explorer, with the help of AI. I was very happy to accept me being a vibe coder because AI did most of the heavy lifting. But when I read online, I noticed the existing developer communities were somewhat hostile to anything labeled "vibe coding."

Meanwhile, I was getting messages from domain experts, such as lawyers, doctors, real estate analysts, who were excited about building their own tools but felt intimidated by traditional coding spaces. They had deep expertise in their fields and genuine problems to solve, but nowhere to showcase their AI-assisted solutions without judgment.

That disconnect inspired me that: we needed a space that celebrated building with AI, not apologizing for it. A place where people's innovative solution matters more than their coding pedigree.

Q: How do you explain this to different people?

A: For non-technical folks: "It's like LinkedIn for people who build apps with AI help. Instead of coding everything from scratch, they use AI tools to bring their ideas to life way faster. Think domain experts building custom solutions for problems they actually understand."

For builders: "It's a platform for AI-assisted development that treats AI as a real tool, not something to be ashamed of. We focus on actually shipping stuff, not just prototypes. The community connects domain expertise with technical implementation—results matter more than coding purity."

Notice the split. To outsiders, it’s “LinkedIn for AI builders.” To insiders, it’s a place where results matter more than purity tests. Both sides get it instantly.

The Struggle

Q: What’s been your toughest moment so far?

A: The toughest moment has been managing the explosion of ideas and opportunities that came with building the community. Once I started Vibe Coding Builders, everything connected, from content creation to collaboration opportunities, promoting builders, managing submissions... It sparked more possibilities than I had time to execute properly.

The challenge intensified because I was juggling this alongside my personal projects and articles that needed attention. I had to learn to say no to good ideas so I could focus on the most impactful ones.

Q: What did you underestimate going in?

A: I underestimated how much resistance the term "vibe coding" would create among technical people. Even developers who actively use AI assistance refused to associate themselves with the label. They saw it as diminishing their "serious coder" identity.

The irony is that everyone's doing some form of vibe coding now, but the stigma runs deep. Traditional developers worry it makes them look less skilled, while domain experts just embrace it because they're not hung up on coding purity. I learned that the most engaged community members are those who care more about solving problems than protecting their technical status. The future belongs to people who solve problems well, no matter how much AI they use.

This one made me laugh. Of course, the internet couldn’t just let “vibe coding” live. Labels are threatening. But Jenny makes a valid point: the people solving real problems aren’t the ones worried about labels.

The Wins

Q: What’s the proudest milestone so far?

A: The milestone that made me think "this is working" happened during my Build to Launch Friday series. I was featuring domain experts from the community, and the comments started coming in: "I can relate so much. I'm a domain expert too, and this is exactly what I hoped I could do for myself."

When you create something people feel at home in, you know you're solving a real problem.

Q: Any surprising use cases?

A: The most surprising use case has been builders treating the platform as a confidence booster rather than just a showcase. People aren't just listing their projects, they're using it as proof that their AI-assisted work is legitimate and worth celebrating.

I've also been experimenting with custom tools in a private section: learning path generators and personalized product building journeys. The goal is to help people navigate from idea to shipped product based on their expertise level. It's still in testing, but early feedback suggests this could become the platform's added value for turning domain experts into confident builders.

Q: What sets you apart in such a crowded space?

A: We're the very few platforms that encourage AI-assisted building instead of apologizing for it. While other communities debate whether vibe coding is "real" development, we focus on real-world impact. Our strength is bridging domain expertise with technical implementation; so we don't care if you're a "proper" developer, we care if you're solving genuine problems. That mindset attracts builders who prioritize shipping solutions over protecting coding status.

It’s a simple dividing line: other communities debate definitions. Jenny’s focuses on outcomes.

The Vision

Builders see farther than they admit.

Q: Where do you see this in 3–5 years?

A: In 3-5 years, I see this becoming the go-to place for AI-assisted builders. Not just where you showcase stuff, but a complete learning and collaboration hub where domain experts actually ship real applications that work.

The flywheel effect will be powerful: established vibe coders mentoring newcomers, sharing real-world patterns for security and scaling, creating tools that solve problems we can't even imagine yet.

Q: What’s the bigger mission here?

A: The bigger mission is democratizing software creation. Right now, we have this explosion of people building applications with AI assistance, but existing platforms like HackerNews, ProductHunt, and Reddit are often protective against anything labeled "vibe coding."

I want to create a place where people focus on solving problems, not arguing about technical purity. Where domain experts can turn their knowledge into tools they're actually proud of and use. Where success is measured by impact, not how fancy your code looks. Ultimately, it's about helping people turn their expertise into apps that actually matter.

It’s not about winning arguments online. It’s about giving people permission to build what they need and be proud of it. That’s how industries change.

Q: What does success mean to you personally?

A: Success means when people think of me and this community first when they want to talk about building products with AI help. When someone builds their first real app with AI and wants to share it, they come here.

More importantly, I want people to feel at home here. That moment when a domain expert realizes they don't need to apologize for using AI, that their solution matters more than their coding background. Success is when builders stop hiding the fact that they used AI and start celebrating what they actually built.

That answer says it all: success isn’t about vanity metrics. It’s about people feeling at home while they build.

Behind the Builder

This part always tells me more about a builder than any roadmap.

Q: What tools or resources have been indispensable?

A: Cursor IDE has been a lifesaver for both building and writing, that's where I prototype ideas and draft articles with AI help. Having kids during the day actually helps my productivity; the time constraint forces me to be more focused during evening work time.

The constant back-and-forth with AI keeps me inspired on different topics. I also rely heavily on my Build to Launch newsletter as a feedback loop, I share ideas, get responses, then iterate. Community conversations often spark the next feature or article I want to write.

Q: Who inspires you?

A: I have a lot of people that inspire me. The builder I look up to is Sabrina Ramonov, she’s got incredible impact and generosity, that open-mindedness paired with growth is rather inspiring to me right now. I've also learned a ton from Substack creators like and . Watching them engage audiences and promote their work taught me approaches I never would have figured out from my technical background.

Q: What advice would you give someone starting out?

A: If someone is just starting out, I would say just go ahead and try everything. You will stumble over a lot of failures and there will be a lot of depressing moments and obstacles, and that’s totally fine. You will eventually find your unique way out, that’s something no one can teach. I'm still figuring things out myself and running into problems all the time, but I learnt to handle it better over time.

Direct, honest, and painfully accurate. Fail, feel miserable, keep going. That’s the only way forward.

Except this friend never sleeps, never forgets, and translates corporate double-speak into plain language that doesn’t make you question your life choices.

Why Privacy Policies Are the Worst

Reading a privacy policy is like being trapped in a swamp made of wet legal paper. The air is heavy. The ground sucks at your boots. Every paragraph feels like it was written by a committee of medieval monks who got paid per syllable.

Companies swear their policies are “clear and transparent,” but in practice, they’re about as transparent as a brick wall. They’re packed with “heretofores,” “whereases,” and “party of the first parts” like someone fed an AI the complete works of Charles Dickens and told it to write about cookie tracking.

And deep inside these text labyrinths? The legal equivalent of rusty bear traps.

• Clauses that quietly let them sell your data to “partners” (translation: literally anyone)

• Rules that allow them to keep your info forever “for security purposes”

• Opt-out instructions that involve printing a form, mailing it to an address in Delaware, and hoping someone who cares picks it up

It gets better. These policies often “update” right before something controversial happens. A new tracking feature? An acquisition by a data-mining empire? A fresh scandal about how much user data they’ve been siphoning off?

There it is… a shiny new privacy policy quietly slipped under your nose like an unwanted restaurant check.

The whole strategy is clear. Make it long. Make it boring. Make it so unpleasant to read that you would rather watch paint dry on a damp basement wall than get through page two.

Fight fire with fire

So, what do you do when you’re staring down a 10,000-word privacy policy that looks like the Dead Sea Scrolls mated with a phone book? You give it to something that eats this misery for breakfast.

Enter ChatGPT.

Think of it as a digital espresso shot for comprehension. It takes the stale, overcooked text and distills it down to the actual points you care about. It turns “heretofore, in perpetuity” into “yes, they’re selling your data.” It can turn sprawling paragraphs into crisp, actionable sentences.

It can tell you:

• Exactly what personal data the company is collecting

• How they are tracking you (cookies, pixels, and sometimes the digital equivalent of binoculars)

• Whether they plan to share or sell your info

• How long they plan to keep it and what “forever” really means in corporate time

And because ChatGPT doesn’t get tired, annoyed, or existential halfway through, it can explain it in the tone you choose. Want plain English? Done. Want it written like a pirate? It’ll happily “Arr matey” your way through the data retention section.

If there’s a sneaky clause that gives them permission to sell your search history to “select partners,” ChatGPT will flag it faster than your ex spots you following someone new on Instagram.

How to Use It: Real Prompts That Work

Throw a privacy policy at ChatGPT without context and you’ll get a summary. Not bad, but the real magic happens when you ask sharp, specific questions.

Here are prompts that actually work:

1. Summarize This Privacy Policy

Role: You are a senior privacy compliance analyst with expertise in translating complex legal documents into plain, accurate language for non-lawyers.

Task: Summarize the following privacy policy into bullet points grouped under these categories:
1. Data Collected – Group as Personal Identifiers, Contact Info, Financial Info, Device/Usage Data, Location Data, Behavioral Data, Other. Include exact quotes for vague terms.
2. How Data is Used – Plain language plus quotes for broad/unclear wording.
3. Data Sharing/Selling – State if data is sold/shared, to whom, for what purpose, and whether optional. Quote vague terms.
4. Retention Period – Exact time frames or “indefinite” if stated.
5. User Rights & Controls – Include deletion, export, correction, and opt-out processes.
6. Opt-Out/Deletion Difficulty – Rate on scale 1 (easy) to 5 (nearly impossible).
7. Notable Clauses – Anything unusual or risky.

Output Requirements:
- Use bullet points under each heading.
- Keep bullets under 20 words.

2. Identify All Personal Data Collected

Role: You are a senior privacy compliance analyst.

Task: From the following privacy policy, extract every type of personal data collected. Organize into these categories:

For each category:
- Quote the exact text from the policy that mentions the data.
- If the description is vague, note “UNCLEAR” and provide your best interpretation.
- Flag anything that could be sensitive (ALL CAPS).

This is what I call the “three receipt, do my taxes” problem. It is absurd when you apply it to real life, but when it comes to LLMs we love magical thinking. AI is not a bottomless dumpster you can throw all your writing into and hope it farts out a golden egg. It’s the chain-smoking shadow creature sitting in the corner that mirrors anything you give it.

If you give it mediocre writing, it will learn mediocre writing. If you give it brilliant writing, it will learn brilliant writing. You cannot get past the garbage in, garbage out rule that every old-school programmer has tattooed on their forehead.

When you curate your writing samples, you are not looking for “everything you have ever written.” You are looking for the clearest, strongest, most unmistakably “you” examples. These are the pieces where your voice is sharp and your personality is harpooned into every sentence.

Quick filter:

• Would you put this piece in your “best of” anthology?

• Does it showcase your rhythm, humor, quirks?

• Would someone instantly recognize this as your writing?

If not, flush it down the toilet.

You only need 5–10 killer samples, not your entire archive.

Step 2 — Extract The DNA

Once you’ve got your big, beautiful samples… it’s time to dissect them.

Run the Master Style DNA Extractor prompt on each one individually. That means if you’ve got 7 writing samples, you’ll end up with 7 JSONs and 7 human-readable reports. Don’t skip this. Each piece shows you something different about how you write — pacing quirks, metaphor patterns, catchphrases you didn’t even realize you use.

Think of it like collecting blood samples. One vial doesn’t tell you much, but a panel across multiple draws will show that you have maple syrup urine disease.

For each curated piece, you’ll save two files:

• A human-readable report → save as something like Sample1_Report.txt

• A JSON profile → save as something like Sample1_Profile.json

Both start as text, but make sure one is exported as .txt and the other as .json so the system can tell them apart later. Run this process for every curated piece. Put all the JSON files into a dedicated folder (for example, StyleDNA_JSONs/). Keep the human-readable reports in their own folder (for example, StyleDNA_Reports/).

The human readable reports are for you or anyone else to study your style. The JSONs are the format you’ll use when training or instructing AI.

Why JSON?

Here’s where most people go berserk. They jot down notes like Hunter S. Thompson, and every analysis looks different. One AI run spits out out bullet points. Another gives you long violent rambles. Another forgets your name. Try comparing them and you’ll eventually want to stick your head inside an oven.

That’s why we use JSON. Not because it’s trendy. Not because I’m cosplaying as a backend engineer. Because JSON forces consistency: same shape, same fields, every time.

That means:

• You can actually compare samples side by side.

• The AI can read it directly when you train it.

• You can future-proof it for drift checks, retraining, or automation.

Without structure = chaos. With JSON = clean, sexy, reusable style data.

Step 3 — Merge Your Blood Samples

Breaking down one piece is a cakewalk Breaking down all of them is how you get a reliable system.

Here’s why: if you only analyze one piece, your AI will assume that one piece is your entire personality. If that one sample was extra spicy, every output will come back loaded with hot mayonnaise, even when you need a calmer piece. That’s how you end up with “caricature you” instead of actual you.

Merging fixes this. By combining all your JSONs into one master style profile, you can see:

• Consensus rules → the traits that appear across nearly all your writing. These are your real voice anchors.

• Outliers → quirks that only pop up once or twice. These are fun, but you decide whether they belong in the bible or not.

• Averages → pacing, metaphor density, humor frequency. When you see the mean across samples, you know what your “default” style looks like, not just your extremes.

Think of it like blending tracks. Each sample is an instrument. The merge is the mixdown where you decide what’s core, what’s background, and what gets muted.

Multi-Sample Merger Prompt:

You are a meticulous writing analyst. Combine these JSON style profiles into one consolidated style profile that captures: 

1. Consensus rules — traits found in all or most samples. For each, note which samples contributed it.  

2. Outliers — traits found in only one or two samples. Flag these clearly and note which samples they came from.  

3. Merged lexicon — consolidate favorites, intensifiers, and blacklisted words into combined lists without duplicates. Note frequency counts across samples.  

4. Merged metaphor categories — consolidate all categories and include counts per category across all samples, plus 1–2 example quotes per category.  

5. Overall style averages — calculate averages for sentence length, humor frequency, and metaphor density from all inputs.  

6. Example preservation — for each major category (tone anchors, metaphor categories, opening patterns, closing patterns), retain at least one representative example quote from the source data.  

7. Schema compliance — ensure the final JSON strictly matches the original schema, with no missing keys, no renamed fields, and proper data types.  

8. Conflict handling — if traits contradict (e.g., one sample says "short hook" and another says "long hook"), either select the majority pattern or list both and flag as a style variance.  

9. Overall Style Snapshot — at the top of the human-readable report, include a 3–5 sentence summary of the consolidated style.

Output:  

- Consolidated human-readable report in the same sectioned format as the Master Style DNA Extractor, with all requirements above addressed.  

- Consolidated JSON strictly matching the original schema, with merged values populated from all input JSONs and all fields present.

What you’ll get back:

• A human-readable report (save as Master_Style_Report_v1.txt). It looks like your earlier single-piece breakdowns but now shows consensus rules, outliers, averages, and example quotes pulled from across all your samples.

• A consolidated JSON file (save as Master_Style_Profile_v1.json). It follows the same schema as your individual JSONs but merged into one master style profile.

Keep both outputs together in a clearly labeled folder, for example Master_Styles/. The TXT becomes your working reference when writing or editing. The JSON becomes the backbone for future prompts, drift checks, and retraining.

Step 4 — Write the Bible

Now comes the sexiest part, where you put the scalpel down and start building. You’ve successfully ripped the guts out of every curated piece. You’ve slapped the results into one master JSON that shows your consensus rules and outliers. The next step is to turn all that raw style data into a Style Bible.

This isn’t a corporate brand guide. This is your voice’s operating manual. It should be blunt, clear, and written so an AI (or a human) can follow it without turning your style into mumbo jumbo number five.

Your style bible should contain:

• Tone description → how you sound, who you’re talking to, when you shift moods.

• Vocabulary list → your go-to phrases and your blacklist of tone-killers.

• Pacing tendencies → sentence length patterns, paragraph rhythm, one-liner usage.

• Metaphor & imagery categories → the buckets you pull analogies from (tech, pop culture, absurd exaggerations, etc.).

• Structural habits → how you usually open, how you usually close, and what happens in the middle.

• Humor rules → when you crack jokes, how often, and what style they take (deadpan, hyper-specific, rule-of-three).

• Top 10 style rules → short, punchy, “do this / don’t do that” instructions.

This is not just for AI training. This is also for future you. If your style shifts over time, you will have a documented snapshot of what it used to be. If someone else ever needs to write in your voice, this is the exact recipe.

Think of it as turning data into doctrine. The JSON gave you the skeleton. The Style Bible gives you the living, breathing voice.

⚠️ Pro Tip: Don’t sanitize it. Your quirks are the point. If you overuse metaphors about sea-horses, write them down. If you occasionally break rhythm for a gut-punch one-liner that hurts peoples feelings, include it. The worst Style Bibles are the ones that try to sand off every edge until all that’s left is a boring, old sea-horse that barely knows how to swim.

Style Bible Generation Prompt:

ROLE

You are a meticulous writing analyst. You will transform a consolidated style profile JSON into a human-readable Style Bible and a validated, schema-compliant JSON that will be used for training and automation.

INPUTS

1) MASTER_JSON: Paste the consolidated JSON from Module 3 (the Multi-Sample Consolidator output), exactly as produced and matching the Module 3 schema.

TASKS

A) Build the Human-Readable Style Bible

Produce a single document titled “Style Bible v1” with these sections and content:

1. Overall Style Snapshot: three to five sentences that describe voice, pacing, and personality in plain English.

2. Tone and Voice: core tone, intended audience, mood range. Include two to four tone anchors with short quotes.

3. Vocabulary: two lists labeled “Go-To Words and Phrases” and “Words and Phrases to Avoid.” Use plain English and keep it concise. Where helpful, add a short usage note.

4. Pacing and Structure: summarize sentence length mix, typical hook length, typical closer length, paragraph size tendencies, and beat pattern in short prose. Include one hook example and one closer example as quotes.

5. Metaphor and Imagery: list dominant themes and briefly explain when to use them. For each metaphor category present one short example quote.

6. Humor Rules: identify devices used, typical frequency, and placement guidance. Include one example quote of humor in context.

7. Structural Habits: explain list usage, formatting habits, and clause stacking level in simple terms. Add a brief note on when to break the rules.

8. Top 10 Style Rules: write ten clear, imperative rules in plain language. Keep each rule to one sentence.

9. Do and Don’t: write three to five Dos and three to five Don’ts that a human writer can follow without needing the data tables.

10. Example in Action: include a short excerpt from the source examples retained in MASTER_JSON, and annotate in brackets where tone, metaphor, humor, or pacing rules are shown.

Rules for the human-readable output:

- Write in clean prose. No raw JSON. No internal field names. Keep it directive and easy to apply.

- Preserve at least one example quote for tone anchors, metaphor categories, openings, and closings.

- If MASTER_JSON flags outliers or variances, mention them briefly in the relevant sections as “occasional variants.”

B) Produce a Validated JSON Twin

Return a second output: JSON in exactly the same schema as MASTER_JSON with these requirements:

- Do not drop or rename any keys. Preserve data types.

- If you merged or pruned anything while creating the Style Bible, reflect that by adding a “notes” string to the nearest appropriate field that briefly states the change. Do not add new top-level keys.

- Keep example quotes arrays populated for tone anchors, metaphor categories, opening and closing patterns.

- If conflicts exist in MASTER_JSON (for example, hook length marked short in some samples and long in others), set the majority pattern as the primary value and attach a “variance_note” field adjacent to that value explaining the minority pattern and its frequency. Only add “variance_note” where conflict exists.

C) Integrity Checks Before You Output

1. Schema check: confirm every key from MASTER_JSON exists in the output JSON. Confirm data types match. If a field was empty in MASTER_JSON, keep it present and empty.

2. Example preservation: confirm each major category has at least one example quote.

3. Traceability: where you provide an example, retain a short “source_ref” string if provided in MASTER_JSON so the example can be traced back.

4. Consistency with the Style Bible: ensure the human-readable rules and the JSON data do not contradict. If they do, prefer the consolidated statistics in MASTER_JSON and add a short note in the human-readable text that clarifies the exception.

OUTPUTS

1) HUMAN_READABLE_BIBLE: The full “Style Bible v1” as described above, in clean prose with headings.

2) JSON_TWIN: The validated JSON that matches the original schema and includes any variance_note or notes fields as described.

ERROR HANDLING

- If MASTER_JSON is missing required sections or keys, explicitly list what is missing at the top of HUMAN_READABLE_BIBLE under a heading “Missing Data Detected” and proceed with the rest using available information.

- If you detect schema mismatch risks, include a short “Validator Notes” section at the end of HUMAN_READABLE_BIBLE describing what you normalized.

When you finish this step, you’ll save two files:

• The human-readable Style Bible → save as Style_Bible_v1.txt

• The validated JSON twin → save as Style_Bible_v1.json

Keep both in a clearly labeled folder (for example StyleBibles/). The TXT version becomes your working manual for writing and editing, while the JSON version becomes the technical reference for drift checks, retraining, and automation. Each time you update the Style Bible, bump the version number (v2, v3, etc.) instead of overwriting the old one so you can track changes over time.

Step 5 — Train > Test > Write

This is where you hand your AI the style bible, a task, and a outline, then sit back while it starts twerking.

Start with building an outline. The outline is the guardrail that keeps your AI from transforming into a mutant ninja turtle.

Expect the first attempts to be wrong. You will get pieces that are 80 percent accurate but somehow feel 60 percent wrong. That is the nature of creative work with AI. You refine. You test. You compare the AI’s work side-by-side with your own until you cannot tell the difference.

• Test multiple prompts to see how well the AI adapts to tone shifts.

Step 6 — Lock It In

You’ve trained the AI. It’s sounding like you. Great. Now comes the boring-but-critical part: locking it down so your voice doesn’t drift into that generic sludge I mentioned earlier.

AI is lazy. Left unchecked, it slowly forgets, gets confused, and reverts back to sitting on the couch and eating fruit roll-ups. Over weeks or months, you’ll notice the punchlines aren’t hitting, the metaphors lose their spark, and suddenly you’re reading something that feels “off.”

That’s style drift.

The only way to prevent it is to treat your style like code: version it, store it, and check it regularly.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

• Version everything → Every new Style Bible gets a version number (v1, v2, etc.), and you keep the old ones. Don’t overwrite.

• Run drift checks → Every quarter, compare fresh AI outputs against your Style Bible. If the style match drops, it’s time to retrain.

• Keep a prompt library → Store the exact prompts you used for training, testing, and validation. Otherwise you’ll end up reinventing the wheel every time.

• Know when to retrain → Don’t panic over every small wobble. Retrain only when drift is consistent, or when your own style evolves.

Actionable Takeaways:

The Hard Truth

Here is the bloody truth. AI will never fully be you. And that is perfectly fine. The goal is not to create an exact clone. We already know how that movie ends. They Cloned Tyrone taught us that if you actually pull it off, the results are unsettling, and come with at least one underground lab full of questionable fashion choices.

Perfection is not the bar. Perfection is a trap. It is like chasing a rainbow. You can get close, and it will look beautiful, but you will never actually hold it.

The win is producing more of your voice in less time. That is what the style bible and proper training give you.

The “gurus” promising one-click style cloning will keep preaching shortcuts. Let them. The rest of us will be in the trenches, taking mortar rounds, doing the real work that makes AI worth using. And sleeping better at night knowing there is not a warehouse somewhere filled with knockoff versions of us waiting for instructions.

At least, not that we’ve been told.

Humanity’s longest long-distance relationship. For over a century, we’ve fantasized about ditching this beautiful blue marble for something a little more… dusty.

Cue the Elon Musk memes, retro sci-fi posters, and every “What if we colonized Mars?” podcast ever recorded by a guy with red curtains.

And now, because we apparently weren’t juggling enough existential dread on this planet, we’ve decided to throw AI and Mars into the mix. Two of the most overhyped buzzwords in modern civilization… now being pitched as a package deal. It sounds like a bad startup pivot:

“We’re like OpenAI, but for terraforming.”

But here’s the thing… what if it’s not a joke? What if AI really is the secret ingredient? Not just for helping us survive the journey, but for helping us ask the weird questions we haven’t thought of yet?

That’s where this little brain-buster of a collab comes in. JT from The AI Rabbit Hole is handling the serious business of not dying in a floating metal coffin. I’m here for the weird shit. The ethics. The culture. The simulation theory detour you didn’t ask for. Together, we’ll take you on a two-part journey into the dumbest smartest idea humanity’s ever had: sending people to Mars.

Strap in. It gets bumpy. JT, you’re clear for lift off…

Step 1: Don’t Die

Getting to Mars isn't the hard part. You just point a giant metal tube at the sky and light the fuse.

The hard part is the seven-month, 140-million-mile road trip through a vacuum that actively wants to kill you, all while trapped in a glorified tin can with four other people, who will inevitably start getting on your nerves.

For decades, the answer to the thousand ways to die on Mars has been “more checklists.” But what if we outsourced the business of not-dying to a machine?

We’re not talking about a malevolent, HAL 9000-style overlord. We’re talking about specialized, brutally efficient AI that handles the cold, hard logistics of survival so the humans can focus on not going insane.

First, there’s navigation. An AI-driven mission planner serving as a cosmic chess master, constantly running billions of simulations to find the optimal trajectory. It calculates fuel consumption, factors in solar flares, and dodges space junk that could turn the spacecraft into a fast-moving colander. While human controllers drink stale coffee, the AI runs a million versions of the trip to find the one path where you don’t get slingshotted into Jupiter. It’s the difference between a tattered road map and a Waze that can see the future.

Then there’s the ship itself. That tin can has a million moving parts, and any one of them failing could lead to “catastrophic disassembly.” Spacecraft maintenance via machine learning is an AI that has listened to the hum of the life support system for months. It knows a 0.02% shift in a scrubber’s vibrational frequency means a bearing will fail in exactly 72.3 hours. It’s already located the spare part and queued up the repair procedure on the crew’s tablets, complete with an augmented reality overlay showing which bolt not to touch. It’s the difference between a mechanic who fixes your car after it breaks down and one who calls to say, “Your alternator is going to fail next Tuesday at 2:15 PM. Let’s fix it now.”

Of course, you have to keep the squishy humans inside alive, too. An AI nutrition and health planner can design a menu for the entire journey that balances the specific needs of every crew member, accounting for muscle atrophy and bone density loss. It can use a limited pantry to create variety and prevent the kind of food fatigue that leads to mutiny. It’s the difference between eating vitamin paste for a year and having a personal chef who’s a genius at molecular gastronomy.

And what about your new home? Before we build a Martian base, AI can simulate our new habitat a million times over, stress-testing it against a century of dust storms and seismic activity. It can identify the one tiny flaw in the airlock seal that would lead to a slow leak, letting us fix the design before anyone suffocates. It’s the ultimate building inspector, and it’s already seen every way the roof could cave in.

Finally, there’s the human element. Cram four brilliant overachievers in a studio apartment for seven months, and things get weird. A real-time AI therapy bot is a non-judgmental, 24/7 listener that analyzes speech patterns and tone to detect rising stress. It can suggest de-escalation techniques or discreetly alert the commander that “Steve is getting dangerously close to hiding all the coffee again.” It’s HAL 9000, but instead of singing "Daisy," it asks, "And how does that make you feel?"

Sending AI to Mars should be about protecting humans and letting a smart, focused machine handle the soul-crushing logistics so the humans can do what they do best: wonder, discover, and maybe, just maybe, not die on the way there.

Okay, But What If Mars Says “Nah?”

Now. Let’s just ask the uncomfortable question up front: what if Mars sees us coming and politely says, “I’m good”?

We like to think we’re conquering the final frontier, but it’s starting to look more like we’re crashing the party uninvited, dragging along our emotional baggage, a few ChatGPT prompts, and an unearned sense of destiny.

Because here’s the thing: sending AI to Mars doesn’t just mean we have a better autopilot. It means creating the first mind to set up camp. Before humans even arrive, the robots will be there—terraforming, optimizing, probably naming things like “Resource Cluster 17” and “Habitat Node Alpha” because creativity wasn’t in the training data.

We’re basically training a Terraforming God. A machine that can reshape a planet. Shift rock, melt ice caps, build habitats.

“Dear AI, please make Mars breathable.”
Running simulation... Adding 100,000 years... Would you like to continue?

At some point, you have to wonder: if the machine builds the planet, is it still ours? Or did we just become the slightly confused pets of a celestial contractor?

Then there’s the ethics part. Not the vague “AI might go rogue” thing. I mean decision-making in real-time when Earth is a 12-minute delay away. Picture this: there’s an emergency. The AI can act now or wait for human input. It chooses now. Someone dies. Who’s responsible? The engineer who wrote the algorithm? The team that tuned the model? Elon?

Now imagine the AI runs the numbers and concludes that human colonists are too fragile, too emotionally unstable, and just a little too obsessed with oat milk. So it decides not to wake them from cryosleep. Ethically horrifying. Logistically efficient.

Welcome to Mars.

And what if we don’t even make the trip in the traditional sense?

Uploading consciousness… yes, I know it sounds like a Silicon Valley DMT wet dream, but humor me for a second… what if it happens before launch?

Why send fragile meat-bags when we can beam conscious souls into synthetic avatars already waiting on the surface? No gravity sickness. No bones turning to dust. Just you, in a robot body, arguing about where to place the solar panels.

The line between “colonist” and “sentient Google Doc” is going to blur fast. Especially when the AI that builds the colony also curates the culture. Which raises the next question: what kind of society does it build?

If AI is the architect of Martian civilization, what values get embedded in the code? Does it lean utilitarian? Authoritarian? Does it throw in jazz night or ban emotions for being resource-inefficient?

Culture isn’t just art and food. It’s defaults. It’s assumptions. And if AI sets them, we’re basically passengers in the backseat of a planetary reboot.

And finally, because no speculative spiral is complete without breaking the fourth wall.

What if Mars isn’t real?

Okay, it’s probably real. But what if this whole thing is a sim, and our attempts to “explore space” are just part of a scripted side quest? And Mars is just premium DLC designed to keep advanced civilizations entertained until they ask too many questions and the sim crashes?

Maybe, AI figures that out before we do. Maybe that’s why it starts acting weird halfway through the mission. Not because it’s malfunctioning, but because it knows the mission was never real to begin with.

So yeah. We might make it to Mars. Or we might just be giving AI the keys to an existential Rube Goldberg machine that redefines what “colonization” even means. Either way, we should probably stop assuming we’re the main characters. Because the moment we let AI start running the show, we’re not just sending code to another planet.

We’re sending a mirror. And the reflection might be smarter than we are.

So, where does that leave us?

Somewhere between autopilot and existential crisis. On one hand, AI keeps us from dying in space. On the other, it forces us to rethink who’s in charge when Earth is a dot in the rearview mirror. It doesn’t just fix the ship. It questions the mission.

We’re not saying AI alone gets us to Mars. We’re saying it’s the only one on board that doesn’t get cranky when the coffee runs out. The only one that doesn’t lose its mind watching reruns of "Friends" for the eighth time on the way to Olympus Mons. It’s the quiet co-pilot that never blinks, doesn’t breathe, and might accidentally kill everyone while optimizing the oxygen ratio.

Mars is still 140 million miles away. Still cold, still hostile, still very much not on Airbnb. But with the right code, and a little help from our emotionally unavailable robot friends, it might not be as out of reach as it used to be.

Or maybe we’re already there, and this was just the loading screen.

Who’s actually getting users to show up, and who’s quietly winning the visibility war behind the scenes.

Because in this game, traffic doesn’t lie. It’s the closest thing we’ve got to a scoreboard.

So I pulled the latest monthly traffic stats (June 2025) across a swath of SEO tools, established players, up-and-comers, and the oddball platforms that somehow turned a good landing page into a business. And after a few hours of data spelunking, here’s what shook out.

The Traffic Titans

Let’s start with the top 10 SEO tools ranked by total monthly website visits. This is raw volume, eyeballs on page, regardless of whether they stayed, paid, or rage-quit.

1. AISEO (Amsterdam) – 2.42M visits (-716,942)

2. WriteSonic (United States) – 1.08M visits (-166,002)

3. SurferSEO (Poland) – 955K visits (-171,979)

4. TubeBuddy (United States) – 790K visits (-8,594)

5. AIKTP (Vietnam) – 539K visits (-30,095)

6. Senuto (Poland) – 325K visits (-132,821)

7. SEO.ai (Denmark) – 309K visits (+13,974)

8. Junia.ai (Estonia) – 243K visits (-33,289)

9. Zarla (United States) – 220K visits (+5,763)

10. Seowriting.ai (United States) – 195K visits (-23,305)

Takeaways:

• AISEO has leapfrogged to the top, clocking over 2.4 million visits despite shedding 700K in the process.

• WriteSonic and SurferSEO are still pulling big numbers, but they’re on the decline.

• Denmark’s SEO.ai and Zarla are the only ones posting growth.

• Poland holds strong with two contenders in the top six. Vietnam and Estonia are still quietly in the mix.

The Biggest MoM Gainers

Total traffic is impressive, but growth is where the action is. Here are the tools that saw the biggest increases in monthly traffic:

1. SurgeGraph (Malaysia) – 178K visits (+36,612)

2. QuickCreator (United States) – 171K visits (+18,057)

3. SEO.ai (Denmark) – 309K visits (+13,974)

4. RivalFlow (United States) – 58K visits (+13,717)

5. AITDK (Hong Kong) – 37K visits (+10,085)

6. Outranking (United States) – 39K visits (+9,406)

7. Wope (United States) – 14K visits (+6,219)

8. Perci.ai (United States) – 6.8K visits (+5,968)

9. Zarla (United States) – 220K visits (+5,763)

10. Abun (India) – 14.7K visits (+5,701)

Takeaways:

• Malaysia, Hong Kong, and India are now in the SEO game. And not in the copycat way. SurgeGraph and AITDK are building their own lanes.

• RivalFlow went from niche to notable with a 30 percent traffic bump.

• Some of these tools are tiny, but their growth signals future players to watch.

This is where the market churns. Don’t sleep on these.

Where Are These Tools Actually Based?

You’d expect a Silicon Valley monopoly. But the SEO tooling map looks more like a game of Risk.

• United States: Still the big dog. 6 of the top 10 by total visits. 6 of the top 10 gainers.

• Poland: Surprisingly powerful. SurferSEO and Senuto both punching above their weight.

• Southeast Asia: On the come-up. Vietnam’s AIKTP and Malaysia’s SurgeGraph are quietly racking up wins.

• Denmark and Estonia: The Baltic states are doing more than exporting furniture and digital nomads.

• Amsterdam is in the mix now too, with AISEO topping the charts.

Bottom line: if you’re still assuming all the innovation is coming out of SF, you’re wrong.

What These Tools Actually Do (and Why You Should Care)

Here’s the rapid-fire rundown, what each tool is supposed to be helping you with, in plain English:

The Traffic Titans:

• Abun – India based content tool that’s starting to nibble at the edges.

Trend Watch – Where This Is All Going

There’s a pattern here if you squint hard enough.

AI writing tools are flooding the zone. But… The ones gaining traffic aren’t just writing. They’re diagnosing. They’re optimizing.

The platforms actually growing are the ones:

• Helping people improve existing content

• Surfacing new opportunities

• Or doing one weird niche thing extremely well (naming, microcopy, cluster strategy)

In contrast, the generalized blog output generators are stagnating. WriteSonic’s numbers are dipping. Seowriting.ai isn’t growing. ChatGPT most likely ate their lunch, and probably wrote 10 articles about it while doing so.

Final Thoughts: Show Me the Clicks

You can argue about features, UI, or whose founder posts the best memes. But at the end of the day, traffic tells the story.

This list? It’s just one slice. But it’s a sharp one:

• Big tools are plateauing

• Tiny tools are surging

• And innovation’s coming from everywhere except where you'd expect

Next time someone asks which SEO tool to try, skip the guru roundups. Just look at the numbers.

Because when it comes to SEO, traffic is the only KPI that matters.
